Effects of livestock to waterways

Hey bloggers, this week we had to do yet another inquiry matrix task. I decided to take the task of making a slideshow about how farm animals such as cows affect the waterways. A waterway is a large body of water the flows, for example, a river or a stream, a lake or even the sea, they all are natural waterways and this is how they are getting polluted. A way that these waterways get polluted is when cows urinate the nitrogen seeps into the soil, then the nitrogen can create toxic algae and choke the water of its oxygen.
Did you know about waterway pollution before you saw this blog post? if so send a comment on how you found out and how you thought about it.

Seaside Minecraft City

Hey bloggers, Last week the teachers made a rubric that had tasks that we needed to do, I chose to make a seaside Minecraft city. As you can see in this picture it took me a while, over a week to be exact. I made an aquifer near the beach so that they can reuse waste water for things like toilets and other stuff like that. Have you ever made a city in Minecraft?

Magical Matariki art

 Hey bloggers, Fletcher here.

On the 2 July, we celebrated the Māori New Year, a time to consider the year ahead. The days are starting to lengthen and spring will soon be here, we just need to get through this cold winter first!

Matariki and the Pleiades star cluster, have got many stories attached to them. We looked at two; one about how Ranginui and Papatuanuku were separated by Tāne Mahuta, and how Tāwhirimatea was so angry he ripped out his eyes and threw thunderbolts to the sky, creating the cluster, and another story about 7 sisters making kites, and them going to the sky. Ururangi’s kite was different from the rest, it was rainbow-colored. We have mixed these two stories to create the design of our kites.

My kite has a Taniwha that is rainbow and the background is rainbow. I chose rainbow because it represents ururangi's kite.

What stories have you heard about Matariki?

RIP Bob the EGG

Hey bloggers, today is a sad day as bob the egg died in an egg drop challenge. After we got back from the tech Mrs Osborn surprised us with STEAM. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths. Only 2 groups managed to not smash their egg in the entire class. Have you ever made a device to save an egg?

Cool Coding 2.0

Hey bloggers, today I made a second version of my scratch game that I posted on my previous blog post. This time you can input different weathers into the text box and the chick will answer with the Maori version of that word. The weathers that you can input are fine, hot, snowy, rainy, stormy, cold, warm, wet, and foggy. Make sure when you input the weathers that you spell them correctly and make sure that there is no capital letters.
Have you ever made something on scratch?

Cool Coding With Scratch

Hey bloggers, today I made a scratch game of how to ask what the weather is. This scratch game is very simple as I am not very good at coding.  All you do is click on the scratch cat let the sentence play out then click on gobo and he will answer with how the weather is. Have you ever made a scratch game if so what was it about?

My Lego Man

Hi Bloggers, today I made a lego man that looks like me.

They gave us a template of a Lego man and we had to draw and customize the lego man to look like ourselves. I drew a Rubik's cube on my shirt as my favourite thing to do is solve my Rubiks cubes. And the logo on his pants is the logo of a company the manufacturers one of the best Rubiks cubes in the world.

Have you made a lego man before if so what did you customize it with?

Have you ever made a pepeha if so what did you use to create it?

Hi bloggers, today I made an animation about what my favourite part of camp was about.

My favourite part of camp was when I did coasteering and jump off rocks into the water.

Camp at wainui was so much fun but sadly its my last school camp before I go to highschool.

Have you been on camp, where did you go and what was your favourite part.
